How Often Should Grandparents See Grandchildren. We see him four or five times a year usually for a few days at a time so again its quite intensive. My boys are older almost 12 and 9 and they see their grandmothers at least once a week sometimes more or sometimes a little less. Just became a grandparent a few months ago. This still gives the grandparents and grandchildren time to bond and be active parts of each others lives while giving less opportunity for conflicts with the parents.
Local grandparents may visit their grandchildren as often as once or twice a week while out-of-state grandparents may make a special trip to visit with the grandkids two to three times a year.
